Bad day for Team LottoNL-Jumbo in Paris-Nice

Timo Roosen has become eleventh in the fifth stage of Paris-Nice. Team LottoNL-Jumbo started the stage without Dylan Groenewegen and Lars Boom. Both went home ill. During the stage, Amund Grondahl Jansen had to leave the race for the same reason. Nevertheless, Roosen claimed the eleventh place after a difficult final.

It was a day to quickly forget for the team. “Lars and Dylan hardly slept tonight. Obviously, they didn’t start today”, sports director Nico Verhoeven explained. To make matters worse, Amund Grondahl Jansen and Tom Leezer also fell sick. “Unfortunately, Amund couldn’t continue during the stage.”

The eleventh place of Roosen was the only thing that stood out. “Timo did his best and showed his good shape by becoming eleventh here. He isn’t only valuable as a lead-out for the team, but he proved he can also get a good result himself. Hopefully, we’re more lucky in the coming days.”
