Since October 2014, Jumbo has been the proud sponsor of the skating and cycling outfit Team Jumbo-Visma, formerly Team Lotto-Jumbo. Jumbo’s objective is to make tasty and healthy food easily accessible for everyone. Healthy eating and exercising are important for living a healthy life. In both areas, Jumbo seeks to inspire millions of customers. The partnership with the skating and cycling teams offered Jumbo that opportunity.
Since January 1, 2024, Jumbo is no longer one of the main sponsors of the team, but carries the title founding partner.

As main sponsor, Jumbo not only supported Team Jumbo-Visma financially, it also supported the team on a sporting-technical level. Since late 2018, the cyclists of Team Visma | Lease a Bike have been using the Jumbo Foodcoach app. This is a tried and tested tool that helps athletes pick a healthy, appropriate meal. After all, healthy and balanced nutrition is of great importance for the performance level of top athletes. The performance staff of Team Visma | Lease a Bike guides the athletes through a personal nutrition plan that is geared to the cyclist’s race and race schedule. Based on this, the Foodcoach app proposes suitable meals, the ingredients of which can be added to the shopping list in the proper quantity at the touch of a button. An automatic link to Jumbo.com ensures that these groceries will be quickly delivered to the athletes. The Jumbo Foodcoach app was developed in close collaboration with the performance staff of Team Visma | Lease a Bike and exercise physiologist and nutrition scientist Asker Jeukendrup.

Jumbo Supermarkten is a family business with a rich entrepreneurial history. It currently comprises more than 725 supermarkets in the Netherlands and 33 in Belgium, ten Food Markets and a successful online ordering and delivery service via Jumbo.com.
In 2009, Jumbo acquired the supermarket chain Super de Boer and in 2012 the acquisition of the even larger supermarket chain C1000 followed. At the beginning of 2016, Jumbo also took over the food service formula La Place. In 2018, the purchase of a part of EMTÉ followed. As a result, Jumbo has grown from a regional supermarket chain to a leading omnichannel retailer in the Netherlands. In all stores and online, the unique Jumbo formula is implemented (best service + largest assortment x lowest price). By putting the customer first, Jumbo is one of the most valued supermarket chains in the Netherlands.
