Bennett getting close to top ten in Paris-Nice after time trial

After the fifth stage in Paris-Nice, George Bennett has moved up to thirteenth place in the general classification. The leader of Team Jumbo-Visma rode a reasonable time trial and eventually finished one and a half minute behind stage winner Simon Yates. In the overall standings, Bennett is now trailing at 1.43 from leader Michal Kwiatkowski. The other Team Jumbo-Visma riders came through the time trial unscathed. Dylan Groenewegen retains his green points jersey.

"It is not the result that I was hoping for, but it was not bad either", Bennett said. “I was hoping to take some time here on the other GC riders and that didn't really work out. The time trial was pretty flat. There was a lot of wind. The time gaps are not big, so everything is still possible in the mountains. I am looking forward to it."
