Mixed feelings after stage two in Tour of California

George Bennett has finished in tenth position in the second stage of the Tour of California. Along the way he showed that he wanted to race attractively, but in the final he missed the decisive break and finished half a minute from stage winner Asgreen.

In the final, Powless and Bennett fought for what they were worth, but they missed the leading group that was allowed to compete for the win. Bennett finally finished in tenth place. The New Zealander can be found on that same position in the general classification.

Sports director Grischa Niermann looked back on the stage with mixed feelings: “George twice missed a group he should have been in. Neilson assisted George very well, but this was not the result we had hoped for. ”
