Grondahl Jansen eighth in Primus Classic

Armund Grondahl Jansen finished eighth in the Primus Classic. Team LottoNL-Jumbo’s 23-year-old rider could sprint to a top ten classification after a tough race of almost two hundred kilometres. The Italian Matteo Trentin took the victory.

Team LottoNL-Jumbo had to change plans before the race because Dylan Groenewegen couldn’t start due to illness. “Despite that, we did a great job”, Grondahl Jansen stated afterwards. “We rode attentively and had two strong guys in the breakaway with Paul Martens and Maarten Wynants. Behind them, I could focus on the sprint.”

Two riders stayed ahead, but Grondahl Jansen could position himself in front in the sprint for a podium place. “Unfortunately, the pace was just too high for me. I hoped for a top five classification, but I ended up eighth.”
