Massive crash thwarts plans Team LottoNL-Jumbo in Eurométropole Tour

A massive crash in the Tour de L'Eurométropole has seriously thwarted the plans of Team LottoNL-Jumbo. Dylan Groenewegen, Amund Jansen and Robert Wagner were involved in the crash. The last two had to abandon the race.

“Luckily, Dylan was able to continue after the crash and managed to return to the peloton. As a result, we still had hope for a good result, but in the final we did not have enough manpower to chase down the breakaway”, sports director Frans Maassen said.

Jansen and Wagner didn’t leave the race unharmed. “Wagi is mainly suffering from his knee. It has swollen a lot”, Maassen continued. “He will not be able to start in the Gooikse Pijl tomorrow. We still haven’t decided whether Amund will ride or not. He has a lot of problems with his neck in addition to the abrasions.”
