No leading role Team LottoNL-Jumbo in GP Jef Scherens

Team LottoNL-Jumbo hasn’t been able to play a leading role in the GP Jef Scherens in Leuven. The team of sports director Frans Maassen attacked several times in the final, but couldn’t avoid a bunch sprint. As a result, they weren’t able to score a top result.

“We never really rode the race we wanted to ride”,  Maassen said. “We attacked several times to avoid a bunch sprint, but the breakaways never got far. We just weren’t able to make the difference. In the end it turns out in a sprint. We had hoped for a good result with Timo Roosen and he was also in the right wheel, that of winner Jasper Stuyven, but unfortunately he lost it and a good result was gone.”
