Preview BinckBank Tour and Arctic Race of Norway

This week, the BinckBank Tour and Arctic Race of Norway are on the team’s program. The only World Tour stage race of the Netherlands and Belgium will start in Hulst today. Dylan Groenewegen, Laurens De Plus and Mike Teunissen are part of the line-up.

In his homecountry Norway, Amund Jansen can show his champion jersey. During this stage race, the peloton is riding in the High North amongst the Norwegian fjords. In 2014, Steven Kruijswijk won this race.

Race director Nico Verhoeven: “The expectation is that multiple stages of the BinckBank Tour will end in a mass sprint. We hope to win with Dylan. Timo and Mike are his helpers in the last kilometre. Laurens is our main rider for the general classification. The classification is expected to be determined in the last stage with finish in Geraardsbergen. Jos van Emden in going for a good result in the short individual time trial in Den Haag.”

Sports director Sierk Jan de Haan: “We want to race attractively in Norway. It isn’t a World Tour race and that makes it less predictable. It makes it challenging. Danny van Poppel will get his chance it the sprint, while Amund has a free role. The third stage, containing an uphill finish, suits Floris De Tier.”
