Preview San Sebastián, Tour de Pologne and Prudential Ride London

After a very successful Tour de France, the next races are about to start. Many of our riders prepared themselves in Kühtai, Austria, on high altitude for the second part of the season, starting with Tour de Pologne that starts on Saturday and Clásica San Sebastián, also on Saturday. On Sunday, we’re riding The Prudentian Ride London.

In Poland, Robert Gesink and Jonas Vingegaard will make their comeback after injuries. Danny van Poppel and Antwan Tolhoek are also among the riders who are starting. In the Basque Country, Laurens De Plus can show his good Tour form once again. Riders like George Bennett, Koen Bouwman and Sepp Kuss will help him. In London, former wearer of the yellow jersey Mike Teunissen and Amund Jansen are part of the line-up.

Robert Gesink about his comeback: “The recovery took a long time, but everything went as good as possible. It was of course a lot of work: from walking with crutches to cycling with one leg because the other leg lost its control. Step by step I came back to my old level and I’m ready to race again. I’m looking forward to the Vuelta a España in particular and hope to get race rhythm.”

Sportive director Merijn Zeeman about Clásica San Sebastián: “This one day race is known for its many climbs. We have to make sure Laurens starts them in a good position. For the riders, except Laurens and George, it’s the first race after a long period of training. They have to help Laurens as good as possible.”

Sports director Sierk Jan de Haan about Tour de Pologne: “We want to show ourselves in this World Tour race. The first three races are flat. There, Danny can go for a good result with the help of Lennard and Taco. After that, the harder stages who will be especially important for the general classification. We want to help Antwan and Robert as good as possible.”
