Preview Strade Bianche and Paris-Nice

Preview Strade Bianche and Paris-Nice

The first races in Belgium are behind us. During the upcoming week, the team will ride in Italy and France. In Strade Bianche, Wout van Aert will start. Who doesn’t remember the footage of last year where he couldn’t stay on his bike because he was exhausted? He managed to finish third after all.

In Paris-Nice, Dylan Groenewegen is the leader. Last year, he won a stage in the French stage race. Can he repeat it this year? Besides this, George Bennett has a free role.

Sports director Sierk Jan de Haan: “The most important goal in Paris-Nice is to win a sprint stage with Dylan. George has a free role and he can try something in the mountain stages.”

The race starts with a short stage that includes a short climb within the last thirty kilometres. After that, two flat stages, a hilly stage and a time trial will follow. Paris-Nice ends with three stages with multiple climbs. The seventh stage is the queen stage, finishing on the Col de Turini.

Sports Director Grischa Niermann about Strade Bianche: “Last year, Wout showed he can go for the win. During the Opening Weekend, Danny showed that he’s in a good shape. So he can go for a good result in Italy too.”
