Team LottoNL-Jumbo homebound with one stage win in China

Team LottoNL-Jumbo hasn’t played a significant role in the final stage of the Tour of Guangxi. In the pouring rain in Guilin, the lead-out of Dylan Groenewegen was boxed in, after which the chance of a second stage win was gone.

“Today didn’t go as planned. Timo, Amund and Dylan got boxed in in the last kilometre. As a result, Dylan was already too far behind ahead of the last corner”, sports director Grischa Niermann said.

Niermann looked back at the Tour of Guangxi with mixed feelings. “Luckily, we were able to win the first stage with Dylan, and Pascal showed himself in two stages. But we also realise that we missed a few opportunities. We don’t have a good feeling about the last two stages.”
