Team LottoNL-Jumbo starts partnership with Bonx

Team LottoNL-Jumbo has started a partnership with tech company Bonx. The Japanese startup produces hands-free communication systems. At this moment, the team is testing the product during training sessions.

Through Bluetooth and voice recognition, the riders and Sports Directors can communicate without interruption. This is particularly important in sprints. Timo Roosen has trained with the system. “It makes it easier to communicate in training. Bonx recognizes when I speak, so I don't have to push a button. In this way, I can focus on the road.”

The Team LottoNL-Jumbo rider acknowledges the added value of the system in races. “It will be effective in finals. Especially in the sprint when communication is really important. It’s hard to understand a shouting teammate while riding a bike because of the hard wind.” The quality of the sound is good, Roosen said. “We understand each other better, so it will work well in races.”

Both parties will work together on all aspects of research and development.
