LottoNL-Jumbo rider Mike Teunissen finished seventh in the Primus Classic Impanis-Van Petegem. The Belgian semi-classic was won by the Belgian rider Sean De Bie of Team Lotto-Soudal.

The 199.2-kilometre race ran partly in the rain. The hilly course and the fighting spirit in the peloton made the race tough. At the beginning of the race, four riders escaped but were caught in the hill zone. In the final, several groups tried to escape a bunch sprint but none of them where successful. In the last three kilometres, local rider Sean De Bie escaped from a decimated peloton and crossed the finish line solo.

"Lots of things happened in this race," said Sports Manager Frans Maassen.
"On the last climb, Hofland just could not hold on and we lost our fast man. But you could see that bit by bit it’s going better with him. Then we put the cards on Teunissen, who has a good sprint. It's always different to sprint with 44 men and you never know. But what De Bie did was impressive. It's nice to see that Mike still can sprint well after the Vuelta. I am satisfied."

LottoNL - Jumbo was well represented in the first group with Timo Roosen, Bram Tankink, Twan Castelijns and Mike Teunissen.

“I noticed that no one was super in the final," Mike Teunissen said after the finish. "We still counted four men in the front group but it was not up to us to close the gap to De Bie and to drive because Van Poppel and Drucker were also in the group . I thought I could sprint for the podium but there were just too many riders ahead. So I finished seventh. I was not feeling that great today, I missed my punch, but I still felt powerful. That gives me confidence towards Eurométropole Franco Belge and Paris-Tours.
