A farewell to Linda Riedmann

A farewell to Linda Riedmann

After four seasons in black and yellow, it’s time to wish Linda Riedmann the best of luck for the future. The young German came to the team just 18 years old, fresh from the junior's category, and has grown into an experienced WorldTour rider with Team Visma Lease a Bike in her four seasons here.

2022

Following a hugely successful time as a junior, Linda signed her first professional contract with the team in 2022. At that point, she was still a teenager, but she nonetheless went straight to work in the biggest races of the season. She made it through gruelling editions of Strade Bianche and Paris-Roubaix, before achieving several top-10 finishes in the German and European U23 Championships. One of the most memorable moments of her season came on the first stage of the Tour of Scandinavia, where she helped teammate Marianne Vos to victory and even finished fourth herself in the hilly sprint.

2023

Linda continued her learning process in the Northern Classics with another fighting performance at Paris-Roubaix in her second season with the team. She also took three top-10 results in the Lotto Thüringen Ladies Tour, racing for Germany, before making her Giro d’Italia Donne debut. She made it safely through all nine stages, helping Vos along the way, and finished 17th in the young riders’ classification despite her very young age.

2024

If 2023 was the year that marked her first big stage race, 2024 became even more significant. After a very strong start to the season, which saw her secure 10th in GP Oetingen, 12th in Gent-Wevelgem, and 7th in Dwars door het Hageland, Linda made her debut in the Tour de France Femmes. Just like the year before at the Giro, she climbed through the Alps like a breeze and ended 8th in the young riders’ classification. This year, she also won the German hill-climb championships, further proving her climbing ability. Mixing that with her abilities in the classics, Linda had turned into a strong all-rounder.

2025

In what turned out to be her final year with the team, Linda capped off a strong spring campaign before adding a victory in her home race, Rundfahrt in Karbach. She also won the German U23 road race national championship and rode an impressive Tour de l’Avenir, taking second on stage 3. Her last race for the team was the Simac Ladies Tour, before she once again turned on the heat in her national colors at the World and European Championships with several top 10's. We wish her all the best for the future.
