Looking back: Excellent Swinkels and Markus in Simac Ladies Tour

Looking back: Excellent Swinkels and Markus in Simac Ladies Tour

Team Jumbo-Visma had a very successful edition of the Simac Ladies Tour last season. Riejanne Markus rode solo to a stunning victory in the fourth stage. Karlijn Swinkels even managed to finish among the first ten riders in every stage. Time to look back at a fantastic race week in the Netherlands!

Successful start in Lelystad

Swinkels sprints to the second place in the opening stage after well-prepared work by Anna Henderson. It means her first World Tour podium. The rider starts the next day in the polka dot jersey, because she has taken the most points for the classification along the way in the first stage. Coryn Labecki's abandon is a big loss for the women of Team Jumbo-Visma.

Sprinting on the next two days

Team Jumbo-Visma gets through the next few days without any problems. Noemi Rüegg and Romy Kasper play an important role during the day and Swinkels sprints twice to a top ten ranking in Limburg and Gelderland.

Markus solos to stunning victory

A few kilometers before the end of the toughest stage of the six-day stage race, Markus manages to jump away from the remaining peloton. She takes the stage win solo in her red, white and blue champion jersey. It produces beautiful images!

Great time trial and finish in Arnhem

With Markus (second), Swinkels (seventh) and Henderson (tenth), Team Jumbo-Visma is well represented in the time trial. On the last day there is a bunch sprint again for the victory. Swinkels closes a successful week with a fifth place and even finishes third in the general classification. In addition, Team Jumbo-Visma is the best team this week and all riders are allowed to climb the podium.
