Kramer and Graat to stay with Jumbo-Visma Development Team through 2024

Jumbo-Visma Development Team has extended the contracts of Jesse Kramer and Tijmen Graat for another year. The Development Team’s agreement with the two U23 riders now runs through 2024.

Kramer is on the eve of his second year with the Jumbo-Visma Development Team. In his debut season, the 19-year-old Dutchman achieved several places of honour. Kramer also participated in two races with the World Tour team. “When I was offered a new contract, I didn’t have to think long. I made a lot of progress last year. Physically, but also in terms of race experience. This year, I expect to make more progress. Winning a race would be nice, but that’s not my main focus. I hope to reap the benefits of my training and be ready for the pro peloton by the end of 2024. That’s my goal.”

Graat is also preparing for his second year in yellow and black. The second-year U23 rider is happy with his contract extension. “I had a great first season. With the team’s guidance and knowledge, I improved considerably last year. The trust is mutual, which feels very good. I am gaining a lot of experience here. I am making significant progress because I have not been racing for very long. I hope to keep this progress going in the upcoming years, and I am in the right place to do so.”

Head of Development Robbert de Groot is delighted with the extensions for the two young riders. “Both riders joined us after their junior days. They are two different types of riders, and both are very talented. Tijmen stands out in climbing, and Jesse has developed in the classics. They appear to have the personality traits and physical qualities necessary to advance further in our training programme. We feel it is important to express our confidence in these guys early on, which is why we are extending their contracts. They will get a tailor-made programme to take steps in and stimulate their development.”
