Preface by Richard Plugge

Preface by Richard Plugge

Hi everyone. Today, we kick off the first internal newsletter, which will be published once every quarter of the year from now on. A good initiative that will make us even more engaged with what we are doing as a team and informed of all developments.

Giro d'Italia

We are very proud of what we have achieved during the past period, especially with achieving one of our main goals: winning the Giro d'Italia! This amazing victory takes us one step further towards the ultimate goal: making sports history in 2030. We achieved this with Primoz, but especially with the entire team behind him. The past weeks have also shown how strong and resilient we are. Beforehand, we had to deal with plenty of setbacks due to illness, corona cases and unfortunately Jan's crash one day before the start. The sports staff and the riders who were called up last-minute showed their flexibility and were ready to deal with it immediately. The 'home front' was also put to the test, as there were plenty of logistical challenges, just think of arranging the right bikes, making sure the team hotels were arranged and intercepting corona cases in the Giro d'Italia staff. Such commitment and flexibility is heartwarming, as this shows that everyone is behind the team's goal and will put everything aside for it. Congratulations on this top achievement!

Sponsorship

On business matters, we are in talks with various parties and we are shaping our future. Sander and I in particular are very actively working on that. It's going in the right direction, but that may sometimes mean that we are unable to join a (internal) meeting at the last minute. Together with Jasper, we are also thinking about how to position our brand even better. In the future, we want to develop a new sponsorship model and use it to raise our team's profile even more. In addition to delivering top sporting performances, we will also pay attention to all the positive aspects of cycling, such as transport, but also health, exercise, climate, etc. In this way, we want to build a cycling culture in all countries where we are active. With the ultimate goal: writing sports history together.
