Team Jumbo-Visma with sprinter team to Belgium

From 6 to 13 June, Team Jumbo-Visma will be present in Belgium to participate in the Elfstedenronde and the Belgium Tour, which lasts several days. The yellow-black formation will start with a mixed team. On Sunday, the World Tour riders David Dekker, Pascal Eenkhoorn, Dylan Groenewegen and Olav Kooij will ride the one day race together with Rick Pluimers and Finn Fisher Black from the Development team. The team for the Belgium Tour will largely consist of the same riders. Koen Bouwman joins the group and Mick van Dijke swaps with Pluimers.

Elfstedenronde

After a year of absence, the Bruges race will be held again. On Sunday, the 193 kilometre race starts at the Markt in Bruges and finishes just outside the centre of the Belgian city. The race goes through West Flanders and includes several cobbled sections. In addition, the route also partly consists of the World Cup route. After 90 kilometres the riders will return to Bruges where they will ride six local laps.

"We are going to see if we can do some nice lead-outs for Dylan with David and Olav."

Belgium Tour

A few days after the Elfstedenronde, the 90th edition of the Belgium Tour takes place. The race has five stages, including an eleven-kilometre individual time trial. The hilly stages will also partly go over the course of the upcoming World Cup. The fourth stage is seen as the queen stage with eight climbs, including the Thier du Moulin, the Wall of Huy and Les Kimones.

Sports director Maarten Wynants looks ahead to the race. “We are going to see if we can do some nice lead-outs for Dylan with David and Olav, with the goal of getting a stage win. For Koen and Pascal the focus will be on the Ardennes stage. If this stage and the time trial turn out well, we will decide if they can compete for the general classification.”
