Bouwman makes it two in a row for Team Jumbo-Visma in Slovakia

Koen Bouwman has won the third stage of the Tour of Slovakia. By doing so, the Dutchman followed the excellent example of his teammate Archie Ryan, who had won the day before. Bouwman was the strongest in a sprint of a depleted peloton.

"It's very nice to win here", said Bouwman, who took his third win of the season. "Especially considering we are here with a young squad. The week can't go wrong anymore."

"The team did a fantastic job."

This week, the Dutch formation's team consists of four riders who were trained or are still riding for the Jumbo-Visma Development Team. Bouwman praised his teammates. "It was a grueling day. The team did a fantastic job. It's nice that I could finish it off."

"It's encouraging to see that each rider contributed to the team's success."

Maarten Wynants

Sports director Maarten Wynants also praised his riders. "We wanted to make the race hard. Unfortunately, the ascents weren't difficult enough to make a difference. In the end, the team's work helped to thin out the peloton. It's encouraging to see that each rider contributed to the team's success."

Bouwman secured Team Jumbo-Visma's 44th victory this calendar year.
