Team Jumbo-Visma attacks again at Tour of Burgos

Team Jumbo-Visma attacks again at Tour of Burgos

For the second consecutive day, Team Jumbo-Visma showed itself in the Tour of Burgos. Lennard Hofstede rode in the attack all day but could not play a significant role in the final for the stage victory. He finished ninth.

The fourth stage lent itself to a breakaway. A group quickly got away and Hofstede was aware that the group of fourteen riders could be able to fight for the stage win. "The right teams were part of it. There was no top favourite at the finish today. That made it clear that this leading group could ride for the victory."

Hofstede joined in and experienced a tough day in the breakaway. "It was hard, especially because of the hot weather. My legs were okay, but not good enough to go for the win."

"All in all, I am satisfied with ninth place. After my crash, this is a good result"

Still, it made him feel good to be able to show himself again. After a heavy crash in GP Denain, the past period was for Hofstede about rehabilitation and getting back in shape. "Today, I am happy. When the leading group broke up, I could not compete to get back in the front. All in all, I am satisfied with ninth place. After my crash, this is a good result”, said Hofstede.
