Team Jumbo-Visma concludes Tour of Hungary without place of honor in final stage

The Tour of Hungary is over. In a difficult final stage, the Team Jumbo-Visma riders could not play a leading role.

After four days of sprinting, an uphill finish was scheduled for today. With a team full of sprinting power, the riders in yellow and black were aiming for a good result. Loe van Belle got the chance to show himself. The Development Team rider was able to stay with the peloton for some time but could not achieve a place of honour.

Sports director Robert Wagner: “We didn't have any classification riders. The guys got to test themselves today and they fought well. They have invested in themselves, which will benefit them for the next races.”

Team Jumbo-Visma’s young squad had a mixed week. “It has been a week with ups and downs, with Olav Kooij’s great stage victory as the highlight. After that, the loss of Mick van Dijke and Olav was a disappointment”, Wagner concluded.
