Team Visma | Lease a Bike on the offensive again in Giro d'Italia

Team Visma | Lease a Bike showed itself on the attack in the Giro d'Italia again. Edoardo Affini and Attila Valter were in the breakaway for a long time. The stage, which was characterized by steep climbs, eventually turned out to be a prey for Julian Alaphilippe.

Bolstered by the prize for the most combative rider in yesterday's stage, Affini took off again at the beginning of the stage. The Italian, on his fifth consecutive Giro d'Italia, created a gap along with three other riders. Soon the group was joined by many riders, as the battle for a place in the breakaway proved fierce.

Valter also joined the attacking force. After a barrage of attacks from the peloton, the Hungarian got away. Valter was in one of the chasing groups for a long time, then tried to jump from there to the front, but his fighting spirit was not rewarded with a place of honor in the ultra-fast twelfth stage.

Afterwards, Valter indicated that he had good legs. "I felt that my shape was good today. It was a crazy and fast stage. I tried to follow my instinct at the beginning of the stage. I knew that the first breakaway attempt would not be the right one. I ended up in a strong group, but maybe that group was a little too big. I tried several times, but it turned out to be in vain. Cooperation was also lacking a bit in the group. That's actually a shame, because my legs are definitely good," the Hungarian acknowledged.

"We won't let our heads drop"

Attila Valter

"Even though we are only four riders left in the race, we showed ourselves again," Valter continued. "Edoardo was on the attack yesterday and again today. He is very strong. We won't let our heads drop and try to grab every opportunity that comes along with both hands."
