Van Belle wins second stage at Tour du Pays de Montbéliard

Loe van Belle has won the second stage of the Tour du Pays de Montbéliard. The young rider of the Jumbo-Visma Development Team was the strongest after a 146 km stage. With this victory the Dutchman also took the lead in the general classification.

Van Belle: “With sixty kilometres to go, we escaped with a group of six. The gap was already quite big. In the last lap you notice that everyone starts thinking about the final. At the end, I was close to cramps, but I was able to keep cycling at my own pace. In the last kilometres I had to lead the tempo, nobody really wanted to take over. Then I started sprinting at three hundred metres and quickly gained an advantage on the rest. It’s really nice to win here today and also take the leader’s jersey.”
