Team Visma | Lease a Bike concludes Tour of Britain with tenth place for Veenhoven

The 2025 edition of the Tour of Britain has come to an end. The short final stage through the streets of Glasgow ultimately resulted in a bunch sprint, in which Nienke Veenhoven claimed a top-ten finish for Team Visma | Lease a Bike. Stage victory went to Lorena Wiebes.

Despite several breakaway attempts, it was written in the stars that the final day would come down to a sprint. And so it did. Veenhoven was well-positioned for much of the finale but lost a few places coming out of the final corner. Tenth place was the best she could manage.

"We’ll take the lessons we’ve learned here into the next races"

Nienke Veenhoven

“It was a super chaotic circuit”, Veenhoven said afterwards. “The pace was really high. My teammates did a great job keeping me near the front, which meant we were never really in trouble. In the final, we just lacked a bit of power to fully execute our plan. I was in a good position, but I lost some ground in that last turn. I had the feeling there was more possible than tenth place, but that’s part of sprinting. As a team, we’ve really improved over the past few days. We’ll take the lessons we’ve learned here into the next races.”
