Nielsen Sports investigated the characteristics of cycling enthusiasts in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany and the United States. We have listed the most important results.

The Netherlands 🇳🇱
- 37 percent of the Dutch indicate that they are interested in cycling.
- Seventy percent of them are male.
- Dutch cycling enthusiasts are relatively young compared to the global average.

Belgium 🇧🇪
- After soccer, cycling is the most popular sport here.
- The percentage of cycling enthusiasts is greatest in the 50-69 age group.
- Belgians are generally more interested in men's cycling than in women's cycling.
Germany 🇩🇪
- The largest group of enthusiasts (half) is in the 16-34 age group.
- They live remarkably often in the regions of Bayern and North Rhine-Westphalia.
- Germans appear to look at both men's and women's cycling.

- 'Only' 28 percent of French respondents say they are interested in cycling.
- The percentage of cycling enthusiasts is greatest in the 50-69 age group.
- The income of French cycling enthusiasts is above average.
- The French are generally more interested in men's cycling than in women's cycling.
The United States 🇩🇪
- 22 percent of Americans indicate that they are interested in cycling.
- Cycling enthusiasts are young: half fall into the 16-34 age category.
- American cycling enthusiasts earn above average a lot.
- They like to watch cycling of men and women.
