Top ten placings for Team Jumbo-Visma in Denmark time trial

Jonas Vingegaard and Koen Bouwman have ridden a strong time trial in the Tour of Denmark. Vingegaard finished in seventh place, while Bouwman was classified as tenth.

The young Danish rider from Team Jumbo-Visma completed the seventeen kilometre race route in 19'54", which was just nineteen seconds slower than winner Madsen. Vingegaard confirmed his good shape with this performance, after recently claiming his first professional victory in the Tour of Poland.

The Danish climbing talent was very happy with his time trial. “It's nice to see that I have developed well in the time trial. I rode a fast opening phase, but in the end it got harder. Nevertheless, I’m happy with my seventh place."

"Jonas and Koen rode a strong time trial," sports director Frans Maassen said. “Compared to Jonas, Koen lost a little time in the corners. Along the way Amund was our best man, but he crashed after five kilometres. That’s too bad. Hopefully he can recover well, because stages that suit him are coming. Moreover, we have Jonas and Koen well placed in the GC. The race is still open and everything is possible."
