The Giro d'Italia has landed on Italian soil again. With as cherry on top an emotional victory for Koen Bouwman in stage 7. The Giro departed from Hungary, for Young Team Jumbo-Visma the Tour de Hongrie just started there.

Giro d'Italia (stage 7)

Koen Bouwman won his first grand tour stage of his career. He successfully completed a day in the breakaway, partly thanks to Tom Dumoulin who brought him to the finish in a comfortable position. The 28-year-old Dutchman took the second win of his career and started in the blue mountain jersey the next day.

Tour de Hongrie

Olav Kooij won the first stage and immediately took the leader's jersey in Hungary. Due to a crash in the second stage the Dutch sprinter was unable to continue and for the same reason Mick van Dijke was also unable to start. After Kooij, David Dekker was the designated rider for the sprint and he was able to contest finals again after a more difficult period. He sprinted to fourth place in the third stage.
