Archie Ryan also with Jumbo-Visma Development Team next year

Archie Ryan has extended his contract with Jumbo-Visma Development with one year. The nineteen-year-old Irishman is in his second season with the development team of Team Jumbo-Visma.

Ryan is happy with the confidence he is getting from the team. “It is great to extend my contract. This team is exactly where I want to be in this stage of my development. For me, there is no better place right now. I feel very good here. Thanks to the team I am developing myself as a rider. We have a nice group of riders and I live at Watersley Sports & Talent Park. This allows me to focus well on my sport. That helps me in my development.”

“I feel that I can take the next step here”, Ryan continues. “Hopefully I can make the step up to the pros in a few years. Gijs Leemreize and Olav Kooij have already shown that there is that possibility. The path they have taken is a good example. Hopefully I can follow that.”

"Thanks to his spirit and courage, he is an important link in our team."

Robbert de Groot

Head of Development Robbert de Groot is happy to have the young climbing talent in the development team next year. “Archie is a great talent who is still very young. He has already shown things in races and in trainings that are very good. Thanks to his spirit and courage, he is an important link in our team. We hope he can further develop and showcase his climbing talent in the coming years.”
