Christophe Laporte sidelined for several weeks due to quadriceps muscle tear
Team Visma | Lease a Bike will be without Christophe Laporte for the coming period. The French rider suffered a tear in his quadriceps muscle following a crash during training.
Medical examinations have shown that Laporte will not be allowed to train in the coming weeks in order to fully recover from the injury. As a result, he will also miss the Tour de l’Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and the Tour de France.
Christophe Laporte: “Obviously, this is a huge disappointment. I had a strong spring classics campaign and was ready to start preparing for the Tour de France. Of course, I was really looking forward to the upcoming races, especially the Tour de France. Right now, the focus is fully on recovery so I can come back as soon as possible.”
Laporte’s focus in the coming period will be entirely on recovery and a careful rehabilitation process.
