Henry Hobbs joins Team Visma | Lease a Bike Development

18-year-old Brit Henry Hobbs will make his debut in the U23 category next season with Team Visma | Lease a Bike Development. The young all-rounder is excited about the opportunities at the development team and has signed a two-year contract.

Hobbs is the reigning junior world champion in the individual pursuit. On the road, he has particularly stood out in the classics, earning top finishes in the junior editions of Paris-Roubaix, Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne, and Nokere Koerse. “Henry is quite an all-rounder: he can sprint and time trial, and his background on the track make him an interesting and talented rider,” said Head of Development Robbert de Groot about the British talent. “Of course, you never know exactly how a rider will develop, but we’re very pleased that he’s chosen our team.”

Hobbs himself is also happy with his decision to join Team Visma | Lease a Bike: “I'm very excited — the team looks great. I want to take the next steps in my development, and I believe this team offers the best opportunities to do that. Ultimately, I hope to make the step to the WorldTour, but I’ll take it step by step. I’m looking forward to discovering the continental level next season.”
