Matej Pitak joins Team Visma | Lease a Bike Development

Czech rider Matej Pitak will join Team Visma | Lease a Bike Development next season. The young climber wants to fulfill his cycling dream with the Dutch professional team.

Pitak has signed a two-year contract with the development team of Team Visma | Lease a Bike. The young Czech, who will be a first-year U23 rider next year, stood out in several races with his national team. He finished in the top ten in the general classification of both the Course de la Paix and the Tour du Pays de Vaud. Additionally, he won the KOM classification in the Saarland Trofeo and the Course de la Paix.

“We see in Matej a strong climber,” said Head of Development Robbert de Groot. “He races very aggressively and constantly challenges his competition. The fact that he keeps trying and often manages to surprise says a lot about his character. That, combined with his background in several different sports, makes us believe he has a lot of potential to grow.”

Pitak himself sees Team Visma | Lease a Bike as the ideal place to pursue his cycling dream. “This step gives me a big opportunity to get closer to professional cycling. I believe in the team’s project and the plans they have for me. I want to take the next step and keep developing.”
