Team Jumbo-Visma and Swapfiets join forces to promote cycling
Swapfiets is the leading micro mobility membership brand known for its iconic blue front tire and a bicycle subscription providing everyone with an ‘always functioning bike’, with repairs included in the monthly fee. Together with Team Jumbo-Visma, the world’s most successful professional cycling team, Swapfiets will promote cycling across all age groups and proficiency levels the coming three years.
Nowadays in many large European cities the white Swapfiets service-cars with bikes on the roof have become a familiar sight. These service-cars were actually inspired by road racing where instant service is critical for the cyclists.
Team Jumbo-Visma and Swapfiets both focus on the highest quality and performance in their respective fields, and together the teams will promote cycling across Europe and beyond.
As part of the overall partnership, Swapfiets will support the Team Jumbo-Visma Academy in their grassroots sports activities with professional Swapfiets racing bicycles, enabling young people to start their career in cycling. Moreover, Team Jumbo-Visma athletes and all staff can always count on using Swapfiets bicycles.
“Team Jumbo-Visma and Swapfiets are united in their commitment to cycling and the belief that bicycles are the best means of moving around cities. Cycling is the most healthy, sustainable and environmentally friendly form of transportation for everyone”, says Richard Burger, one of the three co-founders of Swapfiets.
"We hope that someday our next star athlete will have started his career on a Swapfiets road race bike"
Richard Plugge, Director of Team Jumbo-Visma states: “Swapfiets is an innovative leader when it comes to urban cycling. Our team is innovative in our way of working, so we match with Swapfiets and you will see that in the peloton. We both believe the more people cycle the better it is for the health of everyone and the cities we live in. Together we will help people to cycle more, as a sport as well as day-to-day. We hope that someday our next star athlete will have started his career on a Swapfiets road race bike.”
