Team Jumbo-Visma surprises centenarian Jumbo with anniversary jersey in Paris-Roubaix

Team Jumbo-Visma will be at the start of Paris-Roubaix in a unique anniversary jersey on Sunday. Because of the centennial anniversary of its loyal partner Jumbo on Sunday 3 October, the Dutch cycling team will exchange its regular jersey for a Jumbo yellow cycling jersey for one day.

Jumbo Supermarkets has been a partner of the Team Jumbo-Visma skating and cycling teams since 2015. On Thursday, the Van Eerd family received two unique anniversary jerseys from the team: a cycling jersey and a skating suit.

Richard Plugge, general manager of Team Jumbo-Visma, thinks it’s great that his teams can honour the jubilee Jumbo in this unique way. “We are super proud of Jumbo and would like to surprise our loyal partner with this unique gift. They deserve it, because a centennial anniversary is an extraordinary moment. We are happy and proud that our cycling and skating teams have been part of the history of this beautiful, sporty family business for a long time now. Team Jumbo-Visma owes a lot to Jumbo’s support. The Van Eerd family and CFO Ton van Veen are partly responsible for the current successes of our teams. We look forward to winning together for a long time to come and building on new unforgettable moments.”

Team Jumbo-Visma thanks the UCI for the cooperation and granted dispensation for this special occasion.
