TJV opens the virtual doors of their own digital theater to present Tour de France documentary

TJV opens the virtual doors of their own digital theater to present Tour de France documentary

As the first sports team in the world, Team Jumbo-Visma opens its own digital theater. A 3D environment where fans can experience content, like they are used to in a movie theater. And what better way to launch this innovative concept than with the documentary ‘Plan B, the fall & rise’ of the teams 2021 Tour de France?

The story about how a dramatic first week turned into the teams best Tour the France performance ever with a second place in the GC and 4 stage wins.

In the Team Jumbo-Visma theater, the cinema experience is replicated in the best possible way. This means, for example, that cycling fans have to buy a ticket for fixed time slots and that the light setting during the documentary is different than during the walk-in. Visitors also have the option of watching the documentary full-screen for the most optimal experience.

With the Team Jumbo-Visma theater, the team looks further than only this Tour de France documentary. The ambition is that in the future, the digital environment can also be used for viewing parties, (team)presentations, seminars and other digital experiences.. To be able to create the most unique experience for cycling fans, further expansion of (interactive) functionalities will be examined.

Richard Plugge, general manager of Team Jumbo-Visma, is happy with the launch of the new concept: “This is another step of bringing our fans closer to the team. The Team Jumbo-Visma Theater will give us a lot of opportunities to share content in a unique way with our fans. Our documentary Plan B is a nice first step to launch the theater. After last years success of the Continue the Ride and this years Ride With Us campaign, this is a great new way to interact with our further growing fanbase.”

Fans can book their tickets for the Tour the France documentary in the Team Jumbo-Visma Theater at https://planb.teamjumbovisma.com. Shows will run from August 6th till August 22nd.

The digital experience has been created by our creative and digital partner TDE.
