Team Jumbo-Visma Women ready for National Championships

This is the week of the national championships. We kick off in the Netherlands and Belgium with the individual time trial and this weekend the Team Jumbo-Visma riders will compete in the road race in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

Tomorrow Karlijn Swinkels and Riejanne Markus will represent the team in the Netherlands during the 32 kilometre time trial in Emmen. At the same time, Julie Van de Velde will ride the race against the clock in Belgium.

The weekend is all about the road race. Romy Kasper will represent Team Jumbo-Visma in Germany while Julie Van de Velde will compete in the Belgian Championships again. The majority of the team will be at the start of the 124 kilometre long course on and around the VAM-mountain in the Netherlands. It is the same mountain where Anouska Koster came in third last year, behind current Dutch Champion Anna van der Breggen and Annemiek van Vleuten.

After a successful altitude training, the 27-year-old Koster is once again looking forward to the championship. “I like The Dutch championship. It is always a special course. To climb the VAM-mountain so often is very heavy. It is also a matter of how well you feel and how the race develops. You just have to do everything to be strong with the whole team and we are doing very well. I think it will be a very nice race. I’m looking forward to it very much and I think we all are. We're going to ride a strong race and then we’ll see if we can bring home that victory.”
