After the prologue in Laval, Team Visma | Lease a Bike turns focus to sprint stage
Boucles de la Mayenne began with a short but explosive 5.4 kilometer prologue in Laval. In a fast and technical individual effort against the clock, the first leader’s jersey was taken by Julius Johansen of UAE Team Emirates – XRG.
For Team Visma | Lease a Bike, the opening day marked a solid start, with two riders finishing inside the top 30. Matthew Brennan was the team’s best performer, placing 27th, while Louis Barré finished 30th.
"The focus is fully on the three-day race."
Sport director Robert Wagner said there were no high expectations for this effort: “No top result today, but we didn’t really expect that either. The focus is fully on the three-day race.”
Within the team, attention now fully shifts to the upcoming stages, where the race will further unfold toward the first real sprint opportunities. Tomorrow’s 172-kilometer stage is expected to end in a bunch sprint, offering the sprinters their first chance to show themselves in this French stage race.
