RWC Ahoy and ZRTC Theo Middelkamp join Team Jumbo-Visma Koers

RWC Ahoy from Rotterdam and ZRTC Theo Middelkamp from Goes are the new partner clubs of Team Jumbo-Visma at polka dot jersey level. The two clubs will work together with the Dutch cycling team to realise their joint plans for the future.

Head of Community of Team Jumbo-Visma Jaap van Hulten is happy that these two clubs are taking a step up within the Team Jumbo-Visma Koers. “ZRTC Theo Middelkamp is a very interesting club and an established name in the Dutch province of Zeeland. They provide the entire province with a fantastic cycling landscape. It is an ambitious club and they really want to shape youth cycling in Zeeland. That fits in very well with our Academy. RWC Ahoy is also a club that is putting youth cycling on the map, partly thanks to an enthusiastic board. They are busy shaping the coaching profession within the club and are trying to set up partnerships in the region. You can’t do that if you don’t have any ambition as a club. That is what we are looking for in partner clubs and that’s why we’re happy to build on the future with these two clubs.”

Jan Baaijens is chairman of the racing department and also a board member at ZRTC Theo Middelkamp. Baaijens sees the collaboration with Team Jumbo-Visma as a stimulus for the club. “We try to keep our activities regional and we are a club that tries to offer cyclists the best within our possibilities. Think of the right guidance and quality training. We hope this cooperation will bring even more positivity to our club, so we can continue to spread our passion for cycling. We hope to remain a fixed value in the cycling sport in our region and this partnership will certainly help us with that.”

Wouter Kelderman, chairman of RWC Ahoy, is looking forward to the cooperation between the Rotterdam club and Team Jumbo-Visma. “At RWC Ahoy we want to facilitate cycling from youth to senior citizens, where fun is the basis. We want to be a stepping stone for the youth. That stepping stone can range from winning a race to go to the elite category. By doing so, we want to have a sporting-social impact within our region. I think that this partnership with Team Jumbo-Visma helps us do that and this partnership helps grow our club.”
