Team Visma | Lease a Bike Women stays out of trouble in stage three of Tour de Suisse Women

Team Visma | Lease a Bike Women completed the third stage of the Tour de Suisse Women without any issues. Since the yellow-and-black squad started without a sprinter, the goal was to make it through the stage safely. Elisa Balsamo ultimately proved to be the strongest in the bunch sprint.

Due to the control by teams with sprinters on board, no dangerous breakaway ever formed during the third stage of the Swiss stage race. In the finale, the riders of the yellow-and-black team tried to force something, but unfortunately without success. In the sprint, Italian rider Balsamo turned out to be the strongest.

"Voor Marion was het zaak om geen schade op te lopen richting morgen en dat is gelukkig gelukt"

Jan Boven

“I saw a really good race”, said sports director Jan Boven afterwards. “In the finale, we witnessed a great battle in which our riders showed themselves at the front multiple times. For Marion (Bunel), the key was to avoid any setbacks heading into tomorrow, and luckily that went well.”

The final day features a tough stage with multiple climbs, leaving many possibilities open. “Tomorrow is going to be a hard day, especially with a steep climb waiting at the end. Marion is in a strong position in the youth classification, so tomorrow we’ll do everything we can to help her secure the white jersey", Boven concluded.
