A chat with: Wilco Kelderman

The Ruta del Sol in Spain is the first race of this season for Wilco Kelderman. Time for an update.

Wilco, how was your preparation for the season?

Very good. I took everything step by step. First, I started with fitness and some exercises and easy and long trainings. The last couple of weeks, I trained harder and right now, I’m ready for the season. The weather wasn’t that good in Belgium the last few weeks, but I was still able to train well.

On Wednesday your season starts. What are you expectations?

Looking at my training I can see that my form is good, so I hope for a strong start of the season. I want to ride a good classification and also a good time trial. I’m looking foward to find out where I stand, but I have confidence.

This season, do you want to focus even more on your time trial? Because that went well last year.

It is a very important part. I like it and I keep working hard for it.

In which races would you like to be at your best?

The first goal is Paris-Nice, that is what I am focussing on at this moment. But of course every race is important and I want to be strong in all of them.
