Jansen finishes Tour des Fjords with third consecutive top ranking

For the third time in three stages, Amund Jansen has finished in the top five of the Tour des Fjords. As a result, the Norwegian finished the course in his own country at the seventh place in the general classification. Timo Roosen ended one place higher.

“I enjoyed racing in my own country”, Jansen said. “This race confirmed that I’m in good shape. It’s all the more unfortunate that I was close to victory three times, but ultimately didn’t win.”

Jan Boven spoke of a tough stage. “It was a fast day. Pascal Eenkhoorn raced ahead for a long time, until he was caught in the last local lap. Then we knew it was going to be a sprint. Timo started sprinting at four hundred metres, but uphill this was too early. He came close, but it wasn’t enough.”

The sports director looked back on the past three days with a good feeling. “Every day, we had a tight plan. The boys raced in an uninhibited way, but with a strong will to win. That’s how we went into each stage. This indicates that they were good. They’ve complemented each other well and with Timo and Amund you know that without a designated leader in the future, you can also go for stage wins with these guys.”
