Preview Italian triptych and Paris-Tours

Our team starts with strong climbers in an Italian triptych. Riders like Primoz Roglic, Steven Kruijswijk and George Bennett will end their season in Italy. Robert Gesink makes his comeback in Giro dell’Emilia.

“I’m happy I can ride five more nice races this year. I’ve worked hard to close this season with a good feeling. I think I have to get used to riding in the peloton again, but I expect that it will feel normal again pretty fast. We’ll start with a very nice team. I think I can be of importance; I will help the team so we can go for a good result”, he said. In August, the Dutchman crashed during a training ride and broke two ribs and his right collarbone.

Sports Director Addy Engels: “We are going for a good result in the three races. In Primoz, Koen and George we have several strong riders. Robert starts in his first race after his collarbone fracture. For him it’s important to get some race rhythm and to support the team’s leaders.”

Paris-Tours
Dylan Groenewegen will start in the classic race Paris-Tours. The course is tough with narrow roads, gravel paths and some small climbs. Sportive Director Merijn Zeeman: “Our goal is to sprint with Dylan. It’s a tricky course, so we have to ride attentively. The last thirty kilometres are the hardest. Then the peloton has to ride on a lot of narrow roads, a steep climb and a hard gravel path.”
