Roosen sprints to fourth place in GP Québec

Timo Roosen sprinted to fourth, just outside the podium, in the Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec. The Team LottoNL-Jumbo cyclist was on the same time as the winner Michael Matthews in the uphill finish.

The WorldTour race in Canada covered 16 local laps of 12.6 kilometres, with almost 3000 metres of climbing. Each lap, the peloton climbed three hills.

"It's too bad I didn't make the podium", Roosen said. "But my feeling was good and my legs felt good. The team did a perfect job for me. I could save energy for the last kilometres. On the hills, I kept quiet with my mind on the sprint."

In the last kilometres, he was in a good position. "I only started a bit too early, but I had no choice. Unfortunately, I had to slow down because a rider came from the right and I lost some speed. So maybe it could have been more, but I'm happy with the race."
