Roosen and Tolhoek ensure good starting position for mountain stage in Tour of Guangxi

Roosen and Tolhoek ensure good starting position for mountain stage in Tour of Guangxi

Timo Roosen and Antwan Tolhoek have done well for the overall classification of the Gree-Tour of Guangxi. Both Team Jumbo-Visma riders didn’t get surprised by the difficult final of today’s third stage and finished in the reduced first peloton.

On the difficult final climb, the peloton had split into several groups. Roosen and Tolhoek were too far in the back to play a significant role in the final kilometre.

“The stage evolved as we expected beforehand”, sports director Sierk-Jan de Haan explained. “It was a difficult final with that climb at six kilometres from the finish. For us it was important to keep Timo and Antwan in the front as good as possible. With the help of Bert Jan and Taco we succeeded. Tomorrow the finish is uphill. Then we will try and help Antwan as good and as long as possible.”
