Solid Team Time Trial Team LottoNL-Jumbo in Tour de Suisse

Team LottoNL-Jumbo has delivered a solid performance in the first stage of the Tour de Suisse, a team time trial of eighteen kilometres in Frauenfeld. The team of Addy Engels and Jan Boven finished 11th, fifty-three seconds from the winners BMC.

“The boys have done a good job. The turns went well and it all looked alright. Although I had hoped and thought that our time was good for a top ten position”, sports director Addy Engels said. “BMC was the best team by far today. Behind them, a couple of teams are close. That’s excellent with regard to the rest of the week. Day by day, we’ll see what our chances and opportunities will be. We have plenty of options here, both uphill and in a breakaway with riders like Battaglin and Bouwman, who have come out of the Giro in a good shape.”
