Team LottoNL-Jumbo fifth after Hammer Climb Limburg

Team LottoNL-Jumbo occupies the fifth place in the general classification after the Hammer Climb in Limburg. During the very tough evening, in which the wet Vaalserberg was ascended eleven times, the team’s tactic was to collect as many points as possible in the laps that earned them twice as many points.

“We succeeded”, Koen Bouwman concluded. “In the last lap I finished second, which earned me a lot of points. Because Maarten Wynants came in fourth, we climbed to the fifth place in the standings.”

Pascal Eenkhoorn was also seen in the front of the race a lot. Shortly after the departure he already made his intentions clear. “The first sprint went chaotic. I wanted to get more points there. But after that, I was well in the front of the race in almost every lap. I know the lap well and I got better and better during the race. In the last lap, I was still able to help Maarten and Koen by slowing down the peloton.”
