Team LottoNL-Jumbo third in Hammer Sprint Limburg

Team LottoNL-Jumbo will start in the final of the Hammer Series in Limburg tomorrow. The team finished third in today’s Hammer Sprint, mainly thanks to a strong Danny van Poppel, who scored many points.

“That didn’t go easy after a heavy Giro”, Van Poppel said, who also rode in yesterday’s Hammer Climb. “But the team did a lot of hard work. The boys guided me especially well in the sprints where double points were awarded.”

Pascal Eenkhoorn agreed with his teammate: “We raced well as a team. In the beginning, we tried to join the small escapes, but it soon became clear that it was really just about the sprinters. Then Danny won a lot of points for us. That gives us a good starting position for tomorrow.”

In the Hammer Chase Team LottoNL-Jumbo starts in third place. The team that’s the first to cross the finish line, wins the Hammer Series Limburg.
