Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What if I have no experience cycling in a group?
No worries! The cycle experience is suitable for all levels. We take experience and pace into account, and explain safety and group riding before departure.
Can I change/shower at your premises?
There are toilets where you can change. Showers are limited so we recommend you bring clean clothes.
What pedals do you use?
If you hire a loaner bike, these are available with:
- SPD
- SPD-SL
You may also bring your own pedals and we will put them on. Please indicate which ones you use in the form, and we will ensure the correct adjustment.
Are there helmets to borrow available?
No helmets are available, so you are required to bring your own. If you rent a bike, a helmet is available. Wearing a helmet is compulsory; safety is paramount.
What happens in bad weather?
In case of light rain, the clinic will continue as usual. In case of extremely bad weather, we will contact you via your organisation with an update or alternative programme.
Should I bring my own food or drinks?
Yes, please! Bring at least one water bottle with water or sports drink, plus an extra snack (e.g. an energy bar or banana).
I have an injury or medical limitation, can I participate?
Let us know in advance via the form or via your organisation. Depending on the situation, we will then look at it.
How do I know if my bike is OK?
Have your bike checked at a bike shop if you are in doubt. Check in any case:
- Tyre pressure
- Brakes
- Gears
- Chain (clean and lubricated)
A bike that has been sitting in the garage for two years has a high chance of going flat.
What do I take with me?
An inner tube, tyre levers and a pump. That way you can always change your inner tube.
Can I put my things somewhere during the clinic?
There is enough space to put your bag with clean clothes. Do you want to put your laptop somewhere? Then there are shared lockers that can be locked by the event manager.
Which route do we cycle during the clinic?
The route is varied but doable for anyone with a basic level of fitness. Everything is done in groups and under supervision.
What if I break down or get tired on the way?
The leader always has tools with him. There is also 1 support vehicle, which is for all groups, but the leader is always in contact with it. The pace is also adapted to the group, so that everyone can keep up.
