The Flemish cobbled classic season peaked last Sunday. In Tour of Flanders, Wout van Aert just missed out on a podium spot as he finished fourth. Anna Henderson finished ninth in the women’s race of Flanders Finest. Earlier last week, Christophe Laporte rode solo to victory in Dwars door Vlaanderen. The 30-year-old Frenchman broke away from the leading group after great preparatory work by teammate Tiesj Benoot. In Dwars door Vlaanderen for women, Marianne Vos secured a podium place.
