CyclingClassNL looking for new cycling talents throughout The Netherlands

CyclingClassNL will be looking for new cycling talents in the coming months. With test days throughout The Netherlands, the talent project offers young athletes the opportunity to get their talents tested and have a chance of being selected for CyclingClassNL.

During the tests of CyclingClassNL, an initiative of the KNWU, NOC*NSF and Team Jumbo-Visma, various parameters are addressed: the physical capacity, technical ability, training and performance background, and the personality of the participant are mapped out to get a complete picture of the athlete.

On the one hand, the test days serve as a selection procedure for the CyclingClassNL selection for the new season. At the same time, they offer an opportunity for ambitious young people without cycling experience to showcase their talents on the bike. The test days in 2022 are intended for young people born in 2005, 2006 or 2007, with the focus of selection being on young people born in 2006.

Head talent coach Martin Truijens calls it an excellent opportunity for young people to show themselves. “With these tests, we want to gain insight into Dutch cycling talent. This test day is also valuable for the athletes who do not make the final selection. The participants will all receive a test report indicating points of development so that they all benefit from the tests taken and can continue their development with new insights.”
