Team Visma | Lease a Bike Development welcomes Alistair Forsyth and Tomás Mateus

As of 2027, Alistair Forsyth and Tomás Mateus will race for Team Visma | Lease a Bike Development. Forsyth has signed a contract for the upcoming two seasons, while Mateus joins the team for at least one season.

Forsyth joins the Development Team after establishing himself as one of the promising young riders of his generation. The Australian rider is eager to take the next step in his career within Team Visma | Lease a Bike's development programme. "Growing up, watching the team shine in all these big races on the television and to now be part of it, it feels kind of surreal to me. Not many people get the chance to join a team like Team Visma | Lease a Bike so I am really grateful that the team believes in my potential. I will try my absolute best to work as hard as possible”, Forsyth says. “I'm also really looking forward to working with team mates from all over the world and to getting to know them."

Mateus also looks ahead to his first season with the team. The Portuguese rider was particularly impressed by the team's approach to developing young athletes and sees the move as the ideal environment to continue his progression. "The thing that truly attracted me is the way Team Visma | Lease a Bike educates their athletes. The assistance with nutrition, training camps, everything has been taken into account to make sure we can develop ourselves as good as possible. For the upcoming season my goal will be to be the best assistance possible for my more experienced team mates in order to learn as much as I can from them."
